As a journalist, Hannah Hayes has been a staff writer or major contributor for dozens of publications. These include the Chicago SunTimes, The San Francisco Examiner, The Christian Science Monitor, All Chicago City News, The Andersonstown News, Lakeview Living, the North Side News, and the Ulster Architect. Her monthly column at the Hyde Park Herald focuses on urban living, and The Parent Educator column is featured in many parenting publications across the country.
Since moving to Chicago, Hannah has also worked as an editor and copy editor. Clients include the American Bar Association, the Harvard Asia Center and numerous academics from the University of Chicago. (For a list of titles, click here.)
She has worked as a public relations consultant for numerous organizations, both small and large. Her clients include The "Yes" Campaign in Northern Ireland, which helped garner 71 percent of the vote in support of the Good Friday Agreement. She compiled a comprehensive "Sectarian Harassment in the Workplace" Awareness Program for Counteract, an affiliate of the Irish Association of Trade Unions. She has also worked in various capacities for Northern Ireland's premier lobbying organization, Stratagem, NI Ltd.
As part of her public relations and marketing services, Hannah uses her past experience in the graphic arts industry to integrate copy writing and design, whether for a web site, brochure or other business documents.
In 1995, she co-wrote a script for a major documentary in Northern Ireland starring Adrian Dunbar (The Crying Game, Hear My Song.)
